Tour rating: 9.8/10

I had very few expectations for the 9 Day Broome to Darwin Tour because I know every tour is unique and you can never know what to expect. What I can say is that this tour was an unforgettable adventure that I'd do all over again if I could! We had an enthusiastic tour guy (Adam Bowen) who was clearly passionate about the Kimberley and his energy was contagious among the group. Even though the weather conditions restricted what we could do on our itinerary, our tour guide took the time to work out a plan which addressed some of the groups individual interests as well as allowed everyone the opportunity to experience as much of the Kimberley as possible. He was also a trooper for taking us on short walks after dinner to discover crabs and freshwater crocodiles, which everyone came along for and it was an enjoyed bonus just before bed.

There were 14 travelers on the tour; the youngest was 19, the oldest was 70 and we were a mix of nationalities. I couldn't have asked for a nicer group of people to share my Kimberley experience with; we talked, we shared, we learned but best of all we laughed!

My favourite part of the trip was spending time relaxing in Zebedee Springs and seeing the 5 Rivers Lookout in Wyndham, the best view I've ever seen. Plus, it was always a pleasure to be able to swim in many of the beautiful gorges along our travels. I remember feeling energised whilst hiking up to El Questro gorge; it was lovely to see the group come together to help and support one another whilst scrabbling over the rocks.

The range of great meals cooked with such basic resources was a welcomed surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed the camping. It was simply breathtaking being able to sleep under the stars every night by a lit campfire and to truly enjoy being out in nature.

The only reason I've not given the tour 10/10 is because although I thoroughly enjoyed the company of my companions on this trip, I feel that by having people of all ages on one tour means the pace and the amount of hiking possible depends on the ability of those in the group. I suppose one expectation I did have was that we would do more walking and hiking. I'm a young, active person and I would have liked things to have gone a bit more at my pace so I could have seen more and enjoyed longer, more challenging walks.

I'd appreciate it if you were able to pass this feedback on to Adventure Tours, will this be possible? If not I will attempt to do so myself. I did fill out their feedback form but certainly not in this detail and I'd like them to have this.

Many thanks,

Lucy - UK

I would rate my tour as 8.5 out of 10.

The main positive are of course Kimberleys themselves.

Some comments about the tour: Our guide - Travis - was very competent. He demonstrated excellent knowledge of geology of the region, history, Aboriginal culture, life of local plants and animals. And he presented it in a very inspired and inspirational way. Another point - very good cooking skills.

He managed to maintain a good atmosphere in a group of people of very different cultural background and very different English speaking level. I was an odd traveller - aged 70 - that means the only person over 35 yrs of age. And I felt just like this - I mean I felt 36 yo.

Thank you very much for this rejuvenating experience.

My only criticism is some confusion at the beginning of the tour, when after travelling almost 1 hour, we had to return to Broome to pick up one forgotten passenger.

Hi.

The trip was great. I'd rate it as a '9'! Phil, the tour guide was superb. He is knowledgeable, and professional yet friendly. The trip visited many great places, with lots of opportunities for light exercise - walking and swimming.

Some more feedback - I really enjoyed the tour not just because the group was great and the guide was wonderful. The itinerary going from Darwin to Broome worked really well for me too as most of the hikes were in the beginning and the end was a bit more relaxing.
