Kimberley Tours

If you're willing to rough it a bit, go a few days without a shower and get excited about sleeping under the stars next to the campfire in the Australian Bush, then you may have stumbled on a tour specially designed for you.

The Kimberley region of northern Western Australia is sensational, at 421,000 square kilometers in the size is much bigger than the United Kingdom (242 900 km ²) and about as big as Japan. It has gorges filled with fresh water, waterfalls, crocodiles, ancient Aboriginal rock paintings and carvings and is recognized as one of the last frontiers of wilderness exploration in Australia

If adventure is what you have in mind then this tour will not disappoint. These 9 day 4WD Kimberley Tours travels the entire length of the Gibb River Road and visits the main sights you have heard about, plus a few special ones the guides know about. These 4WD Kimberley Tours are definitely one of the most adventurous on the market.

Activities

The activities on tour are designed to get you out of the truck and into the wilderness. At most of the gorges and waterfalls along the Gibb River Road, it is possible to not only climb to the top of the falls, but also hike back along the creeks, where more waterfalls and swimming holes can be found, the fact is most people just visit the falls, so the areas out the back are often really good and you can enjoy them on your own.

Camping on a private island at Lake Argyle is regularly voted by tour participants as a highlight of their Kimberley Tour, combined with an actual cruise of the lake, this activity also allows for no stop swimming and even a bit of fishing if you want.

So it's Hiking, Swimming, Camping & Wildlife Viewing, not a bad way to spend 9 days!

Small Groups

Small Groups

Small Groups tours are fantastic because they allow for better access to remote areas, create less environmental impact and create a much better tour dynamic. The reality is that big bus groups suffer because guides are too busy organizing a large group rather than guiding. If you want to meet other people and fun as a group, keep it small!

Kimberley Bush Camp

Camping

Camping on these Kimberley Tours is very simple and consists of swags around the campfire, campsites are a mixture of minimal facility campsites in National Parks, which often consist of a drop toilet and bush camping with no facilities. Most sites are in remote Wilderness areas.

Swags are a bed rolls consisting of a mattress enclosed within a canvas bag, you put your sleeping bag in the swag and put the swag on the ground to sleep, while in the swag your body is covered and your head is exposed, it is a fantastic camping product, very comfortable and warm, and there is nothing like falling asleep gazing at the stars! Tents are also supplied if you prefer.
